New movie credit: “Nostalgia”

Chris is credited as a cast member for the movie Nostalgia, starring Jon Hamm, Ellen Burstyn and — Joan of Arcadia fans listen up — Amber Tamblyn. You can watch the trailer on YouTube. The film premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 6, 2018. It was released in theaters in the US on February 16, 2018. No date for a home entertainment release is known yet.

On a different note, Chris tweeted a while ago that he was going to be on the HBO TV show Barry, but we can report he’s not in the pilot. Unfortunately, we don’t know at this time which episode(s) he will appear in.

New Article: Behind the Scenes of “Fanboys”

Jordan Hoffman has written a great and very honest article for Thrillist that sheds light on what really went on behind the scenes of the 2009 movie Fanboys, in which Chris Marquette plays one of the lead roles. The movie’s production and release has a somewhat sordid history that resulted in a final cut of the film that is less than a compromise, and only a fraction of the ode to Star Wars and its fans that it could have been.

We very much recommend you delve into the story behind Fanboys in Jordan’s article, which is peppered with interview snippets from cast and crew attached to the movie — a very interesting read, to say the least! Makes us proud that we were among those actively fighting Darth Weinstein back in the day.

“All Wrong” Season 2 and “Parker’s Anchor” are out now!

Good news — Chris is back with season 2 of the blackpills streaming series All Wrong! Chris plays the lead in this somewhat risque comedy series that is well worth watching for seeing his comedic skills in action alone.

For now the new episodes are available exclusively via the blackpills mobile app, which is available for iOS and Android via the respective app stores or blackpills.com. The trailer for season 2 is up on YouTube.

Additionally, the movie Parker’s Anchor with Chris is out now on DVD and on several digital platforms, including iTunes and Microsoft Video. You can watch the official trailer on YouTube.

New show “Barry” and “Parker’s Anchor” release date

Chris will appear on a new TV show called Barry on HBO in 2018. He posted the trailer on his own Twitter account yesterday. According to Wikipedia,

Barry centers on ex-Marine Barry who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene.

Chris is not listed in the cast credits there, so chances are that his role is fairly small.

In other news, Chris’s movie Parker’s Anchor will be released for home entertainment early next year. It was announced on Twitter that the movie will come out on DVD on Jan 9, 2018 and digitally on Feb 6, 2018.

“I Hate The Man In My Basement” at Tallgrass Festival

Chris’s film I Hate The Man In My Basement has been chosen as one of the four films in Tallgrass’s flagship Stubbornly Independent competition. Along with 20 Weeks, Blur Circle, and Bomb City, the film is going to be juried by a panel of industry professionals. The Stubbornly Independent award is given in his honor to an independent film or filmmaker who takes risks and isn’t afraid to tell important stories, and does all of this within the ultra-low budget of $500,000 or less.

The 15th annual Tallgrass Film Festival takes place October 18-22, 2017 in Wichita, Kansas. More information can be found on the Tallgrass website.
