Hard to believe, but chris-marquette.com turns 20 today.
We first opened our website on Oct 03, 2006 – Chris’s birthday and a pretty memorable one, at that! At least for us.
Memorable in the sense that, three days after the website had its go-live, we met Chris for the very first time. Which honestly was a bit of a miracle to begin with, seeing how we found out more or less coincidentally that Chris was shooting a movie in Atlanta, where Deb and I were at the time, and we actually managed to stake out the shooting location and meet Chris. And him being kind enough to speak with us, which led to us also meeting director Kyle Newman who then allowed us to spend the whole day on set – an amazing day all around.
Now, 20 years later, it’s kinda crazy that we’ve stuck around for all these years, following Chris’s career and other shenanigans. Even crazier that we’ve been fortunate enough to meet him in person multiple times and that every one of those times has been special and absolutely lovely. He’s always been kind and gracious and fun, and also a great conversationalist for those meetings where we could sit down with him and have actual conversations. Honestly any fan’s dream, and we very much appreciate that we’ve had these opportunities.
That said, of course we also want to wish Chris a wonderful 42nd birthday! A double celebration for everyone to rejoice!
